The Boxster S 550 Spyder Edition was built to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the famous Porsche 550 Spyder. All of the 1953 550 Spyder Edition Boxsters were finished in GT Silver Metallic featuring revised bumper covers, body-color side air intakes, and stacked center exhaust outlets. The Spyder Edition Boxster also received performance upgrades in the form of a Factory short Shifter, Slightly Lower Suspension, Porsche Stability Management (PSM), and an additional 6 Horsepower over the standard Boxster S. Of the 1953 Boxster S 550 Spyder Edition cars built, it is estimated that only about 500 were imported into the USA.
